My Anti-Drug

My Anti-Drug is Videogames and my Family. Videogames help me get through tough times and deal with problems. It is very stress relieving and just all around fun. It keeps me away from drugs because it gives me an outlet that is not unhealthy like drugs. They also keep me busy so I can't think about doing anything that is damaging to my body as well as deadly to me while I'm having fun. Another Anti-Drug that I have is my family. I know how disappointed they would be if I ever used illegal substances. They have taught me what is right and wrong and I wouldn't want to break their trust and also my own ethics. They help me though stress as well as guide me through my struggles.

Week of March 27

My group members are Youssef and Hassan. We are doing a PSA about texting and driving. This week we came up with the story that we were going to do in the PSA. We also did the storyboard which consisted of drawing all the shots and describing what happens in each shot. We also decided who was going to be acting for each part. Lastly we discussed when and at what location we would be filming.

Problems and Struggles

Problems and Struggles

Some problems that some students face are having is having to do a lot of homework and spending hours upon hours working on it. Many students are extremely overwhelmed and stressed about schoolwork. This causes another problem, which is sleep deprivation. Studies have shown that the most sleep deprived of all the age groups is teenagers. Some students may also face financial hardships that prevent them from getting the necessary essentials like food and water. Some students also deal with being timid, which affects their schoolwork that requires working in projects and/or speaking in front of the class. Most adults fail to recognize that teenagers have a lot of stress in their lives. They usually state, “You have nothing to be stressed about. Wait until you are my age” but what they fail to realize is that even though adults and teenagers have different stresses it doesn't make teenagers stresses any less valid.

The Most Interesting Person in the World!

In my opinion, the most interesting person in the world is my mom. She is interesting to me because she has had many struggles in her life. Including having to take care of my grandma who has Parkinson’s disease. She was also laid off by LAUSD from her position at Corona Elementary. She, on top of that, has had to raise four boys including me to adulthood. Even with this on her plate she still has time to volunteer at Kaiser Permanente and go to school to pursue higher education. She continues to work hard each and every day and to me that is admiring.
