Week of June 12

The film festival was great! I especially enjoyed the comedic films. I felt that the best film I saw was wingman. I liked that there was a variety of different types of film in the film festival. In my opinion, 2nd period had the best line-up of films shown.

Week of MAY 22

This week we filmed a lot of our next film. We filmed multiple shots of me getting slapped over and over and over... We also started to edit by cutting out all the useless shots that just didn't work out as well as we hoped. Unfortunately the camera lost certain scenes that came out very good.

What Music Means To Me......

Music is an escape for me. It allows me to ignore my problems and issues for a minute or two. It relieves stress. Music can evoke a plethora of emotions such as happiness and sadness. I could not live without music. If i were to decide on movies or music i would 100 percent go with music.i would go with music because when i was younger i remember listening to my great grandmas favorite song and every time i hear that song it reminds of all the good memories that i have of her.

Week of April 24

We are 90% done with editing our first film. While we were doing that we started setting up days to shoot our 2nd film which is the narrative. We also finished the script and storyboard of our second film.

My Anti-Drug

My Anti-Drug is playing videogames. It helps me clear my mind as well as keep me busy and content. It relaxes me and it is really fun.  I started playing video games when i was 5. With games i have no time or money to waste on drugs. When i buy a plethora of games i have no money or time for drugs.

Week of April 3

This week we started brainstorming ideas for our 2nd film. We made sure to make it range the films length from 3-5 min. We had one person do the storyboard and the rest work on the script. We are doing two things at once so that we don't get stressed.

Week of April 17

This week my group and I did completely finished our screenplay for our second film as well as our drawings for our second film. We have finished editing what we have for our first film as well. We need a couple more shots on the first film and it will be perfect.

My Anti-Drug

My Anti-Drug is Videogames and my Family. Videogames help me get through tough times and deal with problems. It is very stress relieving and just all around fun. It keeps me away from drugs because it gives me an outlet that is not unhealthy like drugs. They also keep me busy so I can't think about doing anything that is damaging to my body as well as deadly to me while I'm having fun. Another Anti-Drug that I have is my family. I know how disappointed they would be if I ever used illegal substances. They have taught me what is right and wrong and I wouldn't want to break their trust and also my own ethics. They help me though stress as well as guide me through my struggles.

Week of March 27

My group members are Youssef and Hassan. We are doing a PSA about texting and driving. This week we came up with the story that we were going to do in the PSA. We also did the storyboard which consisted of drawing all the shots and describing what happens in each shot. We also decided who was going to be acting for each part. Lastly we discussed when and at what location we would be filming.

Problems and Struggles

Problems and Struggles

Some problems that some students face are having is having to do a lot of homework and spending hours upon hours working on it. Many students are extremely overwhelmed and stressed about schoolwork. This causes another problem, which is sleep deprivation. Studies have shown that the most sleep deprived of all the age groups is teenagers. Some students may also face financial hardships that prevent them from getting the necessary essentials like food and water. Some students also deal with being timid, which affects their schoolwork that requires working in projects and/or speaking in front of the class. Most adults fail to recognize that teenagers have a lot of stress in their lives. They usually state, “You have nothing to be stressed about. Wait until you are my age” but what they fail to realize is that even though adults and teenagers have different stresses it doesn't make teenagers stresses any less valid.

The Most Interesting Person in the World!

In my opinion, the most interesting person in the world is my mom. She is interesting to me because she has had many struggles in her life. Including having to take care of my grandma who has Parkinson’s disease. She was also laid off by LAUSD from her position at Corona Elementary. She, on top of that, has had to raise four boys including me to adulthood. Even with this on her plate she still has time to volunteer at Kaiser Permanente and go to school to pursue higher education. She continues to work hard each and every day and to me that is admiring.

An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth

What I learned from “An Inconvenient Truth” is that we are all responsible for protecting our earth and we must take action to stop the further destruction of our earth. I always knew that global warming was true but I never realized the extent that the temperature has already raised. It is kind of daunting to realize just how much the temperature is rising and at such an exponential rate. The movie has made me realize that if we don't do something our future generations are doomed. It is astonishing how much of an impact we have on our earth. We must amend our mistakes and try to fix this before it is too late. The possibility of the ocean rising is scary because cities like New York and Miami would be flooded and many people would lose their homes. Countries below sea level would be devastated with destruction and loss of homes. This movie has made me much more aware of how destructive we humans are and how we must act to save our future generations and the earth itself. The fact that this has been ignored for so long is even more worrying. What if there are other scientific answers that are important to life as we know it but are silenced by the masses?
